The Modefabriek

Last Sunday was the start of a two-day inspirational event called Modefabriek. The fashiontrade show was held at Amsterdam RAI and is their 32nd edition.
Modefabriek created a platform for international and national fashion designers who presented their fall/winter 2012/2013 collection. With over 600 labels present, each one of them distinguished themselves by uniqueness, quality and shared their individual vision on fashion and style.
Every platform you walked into had a different meaning. MINT stood for the designers’ vision for the future. While Refined+ was a networking platform to connect and reconnect with potential buyers while also getting in touch with certain press. DECO meant getting acquainted with the latest men’s wear labels. And if vintage clothing and one of a kind jewelry is your craze than the BLUEPRINT platform would’ve been the place to be. A place where you get to know some of the designers and their inspiration and see some of their distinctive creations.
Walking around the fashiontrade show you see a mixture of high-end fashion labels but at same time there is a special section showcasing the very best in young international and national designers. Next and Cutting Edge has become a very successful initiative to basically pave the way for tomorrow’s talent. Chemistry is what you see when you look at each designer and their collection.
I have to say I am very much intrigued and amazed by some of the designers and their passion and creativity. This was definitely a perfect way to spend my Sunday afternoon!
